Getting Started with WeatherWRX
Follow these steps to set up your personalized weather intelligence
Create Your Account
Start a Personal Plan using your Google account. No separate password is needed—select Start Personal Plan and continue with Google.
Tips:
- Start with a 15-day free trial after adding a card. Cancel during the trial to avoid a charge and keep access through the trial end. Unless canceled, you'll be charged $24.95 when the trial ends. Once confirmed your subscription will renew automatically each year until canceled. Personal plan purchases are non-refundable.
- Your account is created automatically on first sign-in
Add Your First Location
From your dashboard, click 'Add Location' to set up a weather monitoring point. Enter an address, city name, ZIP code, or click directly on the Map and we'll use the exact coordinates to supply the forecast for your location.
Tips:
- Add locations for home, work, and frequent destinations
- You can give each location a custom name
- Each location gets its own calendar feed
Set Up Standard Alerts
Open a location's settings and choose which Standard and Government Alerts appear in WeatherWRX, on the location calendar, or both.
Tips:
- Standard Alerts use simple rain, snow, wind, temperature, visibility, cloud, and air-quality thresholds
- Government Alerts contain official watches, warnings, and advisories
- Standard and Government alerts remain available with the Personal Plan
- WRXFlow visual logic, calendar-aware conditions, and email automation require Enterprise
Connect Your Calendar
Use Add to Google Calendar from your dashboard to see WeatherWRX forecasts alongside your schedule.
Tips:
- Each location has its own calendar feed
- Calendars update automatically with fresh forecasts
- Calendar feed URLs are kept hidden for privacy
Review Emails and Preferences
Visit Settings to choose units, time format, screen mode, and Weather Grid defaults, manage email preferences, and set your home location, travel behavior, and AI settings.
Tips:
- Enterprise WRXFlow owners configure optional email delivery on individual workflows
- Standard and Government alerts use independent in-app and calendar destinations
- Calendar feeds can include an all-day weather summary event without sending email
Connect an AI (Optional, ~2 Minutes)
Ask WeatherWRX answers planning questions about your locations, forecasts, alerts, and calendar in plain language. It runs on an AI service you connect with your own API key — Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, or OpenAI.
Tips:
- Google's no-cost Gemini tier lets you try it without setting up billing
- Keys are encrypted and spend only while you use AI features like Ask WeatherWRX and the Briefing synopsis
- Typical questions cost fractions of a cent, billed by your provider
Learn One Keyboard Shortcut (Optional)
Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux) anywhere in the app to open the command palette — a search box for the whole application. Jump to any location, open a setting, or add a location by typing its address.
Tips:
- Start typing a location name to reach it, its forecast, its alerts, or its settings
- Say what you want: "add location 10 Park Place, New York" or "alerts for Cedar Lake"
- Anything that changes your data asks you to confirm first
