Data sources and attribution

WeatherWRX builds its forecasts, alerts, and map layers from named public forecast models, government warning authorities, and licensed data services rather than an undisclosed blended source. This page lists every provider we use, what it supplies, and the license and attribution that apply. Data exported from WeatherWRX (calendar feeds, spreadsheets, and API responses) references this page as its source register.

  • Open-Meteo

    Website

  • ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts)

  • NOAA / National Weather Service

    Website

    Official United States watches, warnings, and advisories.

    United States public data — Official alerts are issued by the National Weather Service and reproduced without modification.

  • Copernicus Climate Data Store (ERA5)

    Website

    Historical weather reanalysis backing multi-year location history.

    Copernicus licence — Contains modified Copernicus Climate Change Service information. Neither the European Commission nor ECMWF is responsible for any use of this information.

  • NASA FIRMS

    Website

    Active fire detections shown on Map View.

    NASA open data — We acknowledge the use of data from NASA's Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS), part of NASA's Earth Science Data and Information System (ESDIS).
